So I'm out at a golf day with the wife's work yesterday......not really much of a golfy type and my usual watch would be some sort of G-Shock, but yesterday I wore this on a Nato:

Being a bit of a watch nosey parker I have a look round to see what others are wearing (Breitlings/Rado's/Tags) and the guy I'm sitting next to is wearing this:

You can see the similarities, but through paranoia of being outed by the toffy nosed gits as some sort of poor argos shopper I stupidly hid the watch a bit (not that anyone gave a monkeys but me)

The question is, what's a reasonable watch that I can wear with pride without ruining my credit rating? Bit of a daft question and an even dafter situation as there are many beautiful watches in the 50 pound thread, but it does no harm to treat myself :-) I'm looking at Seiko divers watches and some of the lower end Hamiltons at the moment.

THanks

There are plenty of good watches out there from £50 up, examples being Seiko 5 or the SKX007 dive watch. Your budget will obviously influence what you get, and buying used will give you more choice and bangs for your buck. Do you need a brand that will be easily recognised by others or would you be happy with something you know is good but other (non-watch enthusiasts) may not recognise?

Get a Seiko diver.

Next time you see him, offer him outside for a game of watch conkers.

Seiko and Tissot are good choices.

Tissot play on the Swiss thing, if that interests you.
