TVRCC Herts & Beds: Putteridge Bury House, Luton, 2nd Oct
Discussion
Hi folks
All very last minute this - literally - but the weekend is perfect TVR weather - probably one of the last of the year - and people were crying out for something to do, so here we are!
I was able to find an interesting looking local car show over in Luton being run by the ATCCC in a beautiful setting called Putteridge Bury House.
It is literally just up the road from Baldock, so will give us a good excuse for a nice run-in and picnic in the hot weather!
As I suspect this is the very last car show we will be able to do this year, you might want to come
I sent out a call yesterday and we have about 7 people interested so far.
If you do want to come, drop me an email/IM and I will send the run-in route details out as soon as I have put one together this afternoon.
As this event is TOMORROW - please don't bother putting names here - just email me and I will send you the details for the run-in directly as
I will not really be monitoring this thread.
The car show details are below...
Thanks!

Anyway, the pics from today's show have now just finished uploading to

All in all, a very good show! Turnout was helped by the weather - true, but a wide variety of cars - especially the Italian horse kind.
A definite one for next year I would say.

have to agree with hoover well done to alex for a very good year and alot of hard work by him and john
for making herts n beds a great tvr club
one point that hoover made is not many of us respond to alex's posts but just read them !
now come on guys if we all make an effort to post up on the trips he arranges for us
we as club members would know who is going and i'm sure this would lead to better turn outs
which i'm sure is what we all want "more tiv's"
so three cheers to alex and john for there hard work in making this a great year of events

I would wholly agree with these sentiments. Not only have we had numerous events to keep us interested, but a new venue sampling ta boot.
Excellent.
Excellent.

Big thanks to all of you for coming, glad you enjoyed the day, obviously we were exceptionally fortunate with the weather
If you have any feedback or thoughts regarding the show please post them up or pm me. Well done on making it in to the main field(!), TVRs were supposed to get directed to the walled garden due to ground clearance issues, but in the end you seemed happy enough with your impressive gazebo.
Thanks for the link to the photos, I was so busy on the day I didn't take as many as I would have liked, and they were also taken late on, thus missing some of the great cars.
Hope to see you again next year.

Hi Steve,
Yes, great day out, good venue and good organisation for a first show!
The only comments I would have are that...
- cars with very low profiles etc should have been put into the Italian garden automatically, not pushed down to the bottom garden
- Andy commented that there was a disconnect between where TVRs specifically seemed to be guided. Andy was told by marshals that all TVRs were going to be put into the Italian garden, but they were then split by marshals into the lower and Italian garden parking. It would be better if this co-ordination were handled slightly better next year
- Last comment was the entry price for show cars. The advertised price for car shows was £3.50, the actual price on the door however was £4. Not a big deal, but every little set of consistency helps!
I hope those comments help!
