I have attempted such things in the past but never really nailed it as really its a bit pointless or my mechanical sympathy kicks in, that or the car isn't up to it !

Video evidence required !

Yes, my mate Dave did that, he was in his mums 1.1 205, it worked a few times until he showed me and my dad on arrival, all he got was the sound of breaking gearbox and no forward drive biggrin

Only in the snow. That probably doesn't count, does it?

Oh, and I did it on a skid control day at Combe too, but that probably doesn't count either?

Finally, I did a proper one in the dry on the caterham car control course at Palmersport. That must count,it was on dry tarmac and everything!

Donuts in a rather "used" Mk2 escort at the Silverstone rally school on Thursday - with powerslides and rather sad handbrake turns.
Good for a laugh mind.

Last time I did a burnout, video cameras were massive shoulder mounted contraptions that would have cost double what I paid for the car. whistle

Done a burnout, never done a dount though, never driven a RWD car powerful enough. An auto 318 does not move off at a brisk pace frown

It will if you don't care about autobox longevity.

I'm burnt out and I eat donuts, does that count?

(or should that be 'burned'?)

I tried doing one on wet grass once, rammed it into 1, sport mode, put my foot hard on the floor, and the fker just set off at a brisk pace. Tried doing a donut and it just understeered. I did do a J turn though, and sort of forget it was an auto, which i then realised when i rammed the stick into D and the gearbox made an alarming noise and the car wouldn't move off for a few seconds.

Bear in mind this was an E36 with a 190k 8v 1.8 engine in it.

Only in my Mustangs, been rock solid for me after thousands of clutch dumps and other infantile stunts.
