I was in the yellow GTR, Ian the blue GTR and Graham the Sport. Agree loads of great cars there and a good day of driving in the sunshine. The track has a good surface and some nice technical parts, which was great, but it was quite narrow. Worked well with a sensible group of drivers, but not sure I'd fancy a general day there.

Also got a ride with Graham in the Sport, to see the differece slicks make - hmmm got myself thinking I could corner a fair bit faster and be braking later... Very tempting, but this must cause extra wear on some parts. I'll have to mull it over for the winter!

Hi Chris

That’s the one - Andy did pretty much the whole engine install just before I bought the car, so I’ve not had to do much at all. The LS7 is pretty much standard at the moment, but I could be tempted by a bit more power!!

From where I stood, your T70 was going better than the orange demo car. Either that or you’re a better driver than a certain Mr B biggrin

Cheers

that thrash with andy was pretty good tbh i really enjoyed it, i think i had better brakes than andy for some reason, he mentioned his went off during that run, mine were spot on but i am a late late hard braker! i was quite please to keep with him as he's a great driver and i thought he might leave me behind given a clear track and knowing the car like he does, it was a pleasure pushing it so hard with him in front as i knew he wasnt about to do anything daft. i've never dynoed this engine so its given me a comparison as andys is about 480bhp so mine must be similar (ish) judging by the evenly matched acceleration. he was harder on it out of the bottom bend than me, i could hear his engine pick up just before i gave mine full beans.
we are both on the same pads (pagid race) but i have recently put more bias on the front which andy commented he might tweak on his. overall that was one of the best trackdays i have had in my car, am only just starting to feel confident in it as it does bite!!!

your car looked lovely, very neat and tidy and the ls7 is a winner without any mods anyway! i'm hoping that andy and Des (GT40 club) get their heads together for next season to do a couple of events there jointly, so hoping to see some more ultimas join the fun .

got to be one of the best fields of cars yet @ blyton , all my faves in one spot on one day, GT40, ultima, and T70s!

Hi boys. I was there with the Sport. So after stuffing one of the cv joints with grease because of the rather loud clonking noise on the sighting laps we got going. i think that the day was very good because there were no hooligans there and the track was not crowded. A great day with nice people.

My sport has got a Chevy ZZ4that I fitted a stroker kit to 383 cu in It produced 465BHP at 5800 on the Dyno. Am running Mintex FR3 on the front with floating rotors and Fr6 on the rear with fixed rotors, 4 pot AP's allround and they work well. Andy's comments are right about running slicks. I have fitted Nylotrol bushes which are very tough. No longer available though unfortunately. The tabs on the chassis are strengthened with a gusset top and bottom. Hairy OF in the old Spyder had one break last year at Spa because he didnt have the gussets. Otherwise it is a great motor that I have had for 16 years.

I might well be tempted to sign up for the GT40 club, seeing the events they have put on this year. It’s only chance that I ended up at both the Donington day and Blyton Park and I think I paid more for both events that most of you guys.

Chris, I did try to do a bit of video but forgot to charge the camera beforehand and only got a few sighting laps in before the battery died. If you were at the Donington day, I did a video there, which is on youtube.

Ah but there was a kerb crawler in the red GT40, that wouldn't let people past and needed a little nudge out the way wink I hope there was no damage. Good to see you again.

no worries andy, i was only spectating at the donnington event as my car was in bits at the time unfortunately. this was my first event as a GT40 member and i'm hoping next years are all as good.
talks already underway apparently with Des/Javelin and andy b to sort a joint weekender on track next summer which would be cool.
the blyton event was a std price as far as i know at £129 but i know the donnington event was cheaper than normal to club members, and they do seem fairly active on track so it should be great value.
