Took "a few" shots of the JLC today

On a Bremont Velcro

On the JLC leather

Details

I'm absolutely loving this watch.

Lovely, and soooo much better on the JLC leather. The Bremont is too scruffy where as the JLC strap is a real beaut, liking the way it's shaped between the lugs to fit flush against the case.

To say I like that watch would be somewhat of an understatement lick

Really, really taken by JLC's of late.

That's such a crisp hand/dial combo, very nice, I'm not so sure on the numerals font but understand why it is as it is. Even the caseback slots are the same shape as the hour markers, cool and a really coherent design overall - I think it was designed by a woman too, ironic given it's macho links!

Whilst a beautiful watch it seems to me the crown is oversized for the case. Do you find this in reality or is it just a function of close up photography?

The crown is quite big, but it wears fine

Certainly not as noticeable as a Panerai's crown guard.

Very, very nice. Is the crown guard just there for protection or does it have a different function, a bit like the original PloProf?

The crown guard doubles as the "compressor"

With the red markings up, the watch can be wound & the time set etc.

With the white marking up, the crown is locked down tight to the crown seal & can't be moved.

Ah I was just about to ask about the 'hearts' on the crown guard. Beautiful shots as ever Andy, always love it when you post photographs and stunning watch that I'd have never given a second look before you first posted about it.

Is it just the pictures or are the digits badly painted?..look at the 12, it seems to have little chunks of white paint missing & the edging is a bit squiffy, maybe its just the pictures.
Lovely looking watch no doubt at all, I have a chrono version of the same thing, and really like the design. The big downside for me is the plastic face, its very obvious plastic, cannot help but think JLC should of put a classier face, materials wise on this one, as I say I like the digits, the look and the clarity, overall a cracking watch enjoy it

The digits are designed to look like military stenciling!

That is wibblemungus, mate and, I have to say is even nicer (just) than the Fifty Fathoms which is very similar in style.

Think I'm gonna have to start busking on a weekend... hehe

You're joking right?

If not, get yourself down the opticians for an eye test.

No he is right. Its obviously defective I'll take it off your hands. I can't imagine you would want to keep it in that state.smile

Looking at the pictures the detailing is fantastic Love the minute hand. In fact its my new favourite watch. It reminds me of my B&M every time I look at it I seem to find something new I hadnt noticed before.
