Since going out last night, and standing in the beer garden of a pub with my smoking brother, I can smell smoke all the time. I took care to try and stand upwind of his cigarettes but honestly, even as an ex-smoker (11 years) I'm not bothered by it, and I came home with it on my clothes.

Once home, I threw all my clothes in the wash and I've had 4 showers since then (genuine reasons - I don't have OCD), brushed my teeth 3 times, and yet I can still smell smoke. It's only faint and at first I thought I had brought some of the smoke into the house with me, but my wife can't smell it.

What's wrong with me?

Nothing wrong with you. You are you, and smoke bothers you! Not everyone is the same.

I wouldn't worry, this usually happens to me when I go out and have breathed in a lot of ciggy smoke.
I've never smoked but can pick up on the smell quite easily.

The next day I can still smell the smoke at times, it must get stuck to the inside of your nose or something, but it's gone by the following day.

The link saying it may be a tumor, well I heard that if you could smell fried onions a lot then that was a sign of one!

I wondered this but it's now the the second day later and it's still catching me from time to time. Not as often though - perhaps you're right.

I read that and my first thought was if I have a tumour, will I be able to levitate things like John Travolta did in Phenomenon. hehe

Do you have a moustache?

If so, is it on fire?

Yes and yes. Is that the cause? hehe

Oh, but it's been on fire for years and I've never smelt smoke before I went out with the smoking crowd on Friday night.

Have you blown your nose since? When gardening I used to get some weird smells lingering, a good blow of the hooter normally helped.

Yes definitely. The effect is definitely fading so I suspect you're right that it is simply smoke inhalation. I must be particularly sensitive to it these days.
