Well, it seems that my Sag will need a front end respray foolowing a very short lived TITT7 experience.

Basically some F------G C--T egged my car as I was about to enter the Rother Tunnel. Had no idea what it was until I pulled over the other end.

Basically an egg all over the front of the car. Decided that was it for the day, got home, just had car fully valeted to reveal that the egg has cused some serious damage. It has left a large print on impact and the egg has eaten into the paintwork.

Trust me lads, it's not surfaced mounted it's actually gone into the paintwork.

I have got the proper hump. Cant be bothered to post any pictures, truth is I forgoton how to.

So far I am having a st day.

I will let you guys allocate various appropriate names foer the guilty C--T!

What utter scum. frown

I'd seriously consider getting in touch with PHer Waxwork Jock. He's an absolute genius when it comes to paintwork and he's very competitively priced to boot too.

He has done some work on the front end of the Chimaera after I caught the lip on a low curb at about 2mph and it looks absolutely superb. He's also done a fair amount of paint correction work for me and some fellow PHers in the past.

Hope you get it sorted soon and without too much hassle.

don't know the road and if it's therefore possible, but publicise another run and ambush the f'er (he must've been waiting for you, surely ?), give him a proper fright (as a shoeing will no doubt result in a summons)

That is really crap. I was in the Chimaera following you through the Rotherhithe tunnel and didn't notice that happen. Saw you pull over after the tunnel.

Car sounded awesome through there, my ears hurt from the popping and banging! biggrin

My friend had the same thing happen to him in his Cobra. Some real scum out there unfortunately. Hope you get it fixed ok.

Thanks for the tips lads and comments. Things I suppose could have been worse. I will sort car out and move on. But it is upsetting when scum people damage your PAJ.

Hope you all had a good run and thanks to Mike and all who were involved in the organising.

Wow nightmare mate, I am suprised an egg would do that much damage though... I doubt the perp knew it would either shame you can't present them with the resultant paint bill.

Was it the egg contents that damaged it or the egg impact?

If you were in Yorkshire I would recomend chris gregory in Harrogate to fix it.

Cheers D S3

Someone did my Mk2 Tuscan just after I bought it.
Couldnt believe it as he was coming the otherway in a decently looked after car.
Looks like a blood dog bite on the wing.

I was close to home so went back and cleaned it up straight away. The window was open so a lot went on me and inside the rear screen.

Chris, there are some utter scum about. We followed you through one of the tunnels & I'm sure my nephew was videoing at the time, I think he had his camera running pretty much the whole of the early part of the run.

Hopefully he will have some decent footage of your lovely looking car, and maybe, just maybe he might have caught something on camera of the fkwit that did this, although we did pass you when you had just pulled over, so at that stage we were a few minutes behind you.

Anyway, I hope you get it sorted. I will post the entire footage of your car that he has, you might be able to identify where it happened even if you're not in shot.

Chris

Just had a txt from him...."has a lot of footage of that car"

What a B@rstid...!!! frown

I pulled over too to check if all was OK... Didn't realise it had caused so much damage..

Just curious where was the person that threw the egg, as we run through there regularly on other runs, and hope this isn't the start of anti-car vigilantes... ?
Also worth bearing in mind that tunnel is covered in cameras, particularly around the entrances, so it may be possible to get the video from local council/TFL ?

Hope it gets sorted without too much expense or hassle...

The three of us were in line through the tunnel, you were behind me Stu (my ears are still bleeding from the pair of you biggrin ) & I know Alistair had his camera running. He's at a mate's so wont be able to send it over till later.

Is there any possibility that the damage is limited to the clear coat, and that you can have it buffed/polished? You may want to at least try that option, as the consequence of it not working would still be a respray.

Best of luck,
B.

Don't know what to say, Chris. At least, nothing that is publishable here.

I had a similar thing happen with my Tuscan in WG city two years ago. Some... challenged life form... decided
my drivers side would look good covered in rotten egg. Never caught the little... or he/she would have ended up with
something cracked. furious

Fortunately, it cleaned out ok when I got home at 2am in the morning and didn't eat into the paint.

Good luck trying to get it sorted, mate! Hope it is not too expensive... furious
