My work Comercial TDV6 died on Thursday night on the A14.
Poor thing needs a new engine.
It does deserve it after 151880 miles towing two tonnes daily.
Rockingham Land Rover will be doing the do.
Should be fairly shocking on the wallet.

Thanks.
I think the camshaft has gone on one side.
Sounded like a bag a spanners and stopped.

May not be as bad as first thought then!! They're pretty good over there. I'm a member of ENLROC and we get a pretty good discount on parts and many members trust their workshop which is a good advert. We quite often pile over on a Thursday evening for a cup of tea and chat with them all.

So RL quoted "around ten thousand pounds" for a replacement engine!!!!
Er two seconds on google found an 07 plate 30k mile engine at £2495 plus the vodka and tonic.
Quoted £1200 labour to fit. (somewhere else btw)
So we await the outcome.

Yip.
Little bit upset.
Ner mind car will be picked up tomorrow and away.
RL also quoted three times going rate to fit?
Busy shouldn't mean main dealer prices.

I've never used them to do jobs but know plenty of people who have. It is a bit surprising as they always seem to do a fair job at a fair price - probably more than some garages but they seem to know what they're doing. They also seem to be fairer once they get to know you. Perhaps they just don't need the work!! Glad my Landys are old enough for me to work on them myself smile

Have you tried RM Motors in Rushden (Quorn Road). He's a miserable git but pretty good on Landys.

Nice!

Ive read that a few disco3's at your age have suffered cam failure, some others have had the crank bearings go.

As long as your happy with the new engine and you can get another 157k out of the engine then it should be good. smile

We have two.
The broken 2.7 and a new 3.0
We work them very very hard so glad this one will be back on the team.
Just added a Supercherged L322 to back up the towing team!!!
