Hi, has anyone changed the front wheel bearings on a GT?
I think mine are on the way out, rumbling over the smallest ripple in road and humming/droning noise when slowing down.
Is this a big job for a local mechanic, is it worth trying this myself?
Cheers.

Check for "shark tooth" tyre wear, especially on inside edge of rear tyres. This will perfectly mimic the sound of a droning wheel bearing.

You will see the leading edge of the tread blocks slightly raised (only around 1mm. Its caused by the factory geometry of the car being set to address other issues (such as to promote more understeer.

The solution is to move the tyres around on your car regularly - every 2-3000 miles ideally.
