Perforated Eardrum?

As the title states, woke up friday morning after a whole 2 hours after being on a nightshift with some serious earache in my right ear, don't really suffer with any ear ache atall so this was a first.

So in a moment I decided to get a nice cotton bud in there to see if I had large amounts of wax build up, tbf I did but the pain had actually got none better, took some nurfofen and put a couple of drops of olive oil in my ear. Pain got better but still hurting until I woke up saturday morning with no pain atall :s all I have now is what feels like a blocked ear and a ringing sound. Someone said sounds like a perforated eardrum but I'm sure a doctor will tell me when I make a visit if it gets none better.

So, ph masses, can anyone confirm?
