Dash light failure

Hi all
My Chim 500 has recently developed an intermediate fault- when I turn the key the ignition and oil warning lamp fail to come on , although the battery is turning over the engine fine ( red battery warning light working). I guess it must just be a loose connection somewhere down the line? Seems to do it more often when the engine has been running...
