Partial fill of repackable can
Discussion
At 70 cm, the can on my car is a little longer than most. I've never repacked the system (or indeed opened the can yet) but it is on the fruity side - tested borderline at Oulton a couple of weeks ago. Obviously if the can is already empty then it's not going to get any worse, but if it still has some stuffing but is degrading then I might need to do something about it.
Thinking of buying a couple of metres of Acousta-fil either to fit or take along as track day noise insurance (basically leave in the toolkit and fit if it fails). However Acousta-fil doesn't come in 700 mm widths... 600 is the widest.
Anyone know if leaving a bit of a gap at one/each end of the can would have a significant detrimental effect (yes, I know I could buy some 300mm and 400mm to get the full width, but that nigh on doubles the cost)?
