Hi all,
Thought I'd get the details listed up here as early as possible to help build upn the sucess of the previous years events. Last year we managed to donate so many toys and we hope that this year we will go past expectations as we take on another location.

We will be meeting at the Ace Cafe as normal and have 10.30 leave time. I'd suggest a 9am meet if you'd like breakfast/tea before we leave.

This year we will be heading to Oxford for the John Radcliff Childrens ward - they do some excellent work and one of our guys has a great connection with the hospital. We have secured a staff car park that will hold 100 cars but would like to see if we can generate more interest and cars attending.

After a meet and great and tour for those who'd like to see the facilities we will then be heading across country towards Guilford and the chase childrens hospice that forms part of the Sparks group. They have a larger car park at this venue than the Hampton branch and we'll be donating toys that we hope can be shared between the two facilites.

Please try and book the date in your diaries and help support what has been a great event for the past three years. I'll add more details as the event approaches, but we welcome all support.

Date:
December 10 Saturday
Time 9.00am meet
Depart Ace Cafe 10.30am

Est. finish time 4pm

As a note we will also be arranging a prize for the best dressed car on the day.

Hi Steve, thanks be great to have you along and thanks for getting on the list.
Any issues then please feel free to mail me (james at fueltopia.co.uk)
We're asking everyone if they'd put a note in the kitchens at their work place to help generate gifts for this year.

Hi guys and girls. My name ia Iain and i am part og the organising team for this an the forth coming events with Fueltopia. Please find below a quick rundown of the days events.

We would like everyone to meet at the Ace Café for 09:30/10am ready to leave at 10:30am sharp.

Our 1st point of call will be the John Ratcliffe Children’s Hospital Oxford for our first present prop off. The JR does some real great work with the children and is one of the countries leading children’s hospitals. We will be aiming to arrive at the JR at 11:30am where we will be taking a selection of toys up to the ward where some of the more able children will come out to see us and chose a gift and we will have a chance to get some great photo’s with them.

We will then be regrouping for the 2nd part of the day.

We will be aiming to leave the JR and will be heading over to Guildford to visit Christopher’s Children’s Hospice to drop of the remaining presents and a short visit. We are aiming to do this without touching the motorways meaning some great A & B roads. This should take around 2 hours and we will be aiming to do a shot stop to regroup once again for the final part of the drive into Guildford and onto the hospice.

This will be a great chance to put a smile on some very ill children’s faces that will unfortunately be spending Christmas away from their homes.

We will shortly be listing ways you can donate toys for both boys and girls so please keep checking back..

Cheers

Iain.

Count me in for this. Only challenge I have is storage space in the car for the pressies but necessity is the mother of invention and all that.

Nice one guys. There is only one really important thing that we have been told. Toys must be new as due to the type of wards the kids are on health and safty is paramount. This ruling is out of our hands i am afraide.

Hi guys, time for a little update. The guys from the JR have asked if some of the toys donated could be fo the under 1's as they seem to be missed out. This is a fair point and would ask if you could remember this when you kindly drop that little something into your shopping trolly.

Well this are really starting to hot up now with 30+ cars now on the list and some VERY kind and greatfull donations we are well on the way to the best Toy run ever.

Cheers

OK then chaps, I'll come along, but won't join the run at the Ace Cafe.

If it's OK, I'll join you guys at Oxford instead.

Won't be bringing a nice car though, but I will be bringing a Landcruiser, or possibly a van, full of goodies. smile

Something for everybody!
