PistonHeads And Forza 4: Win A Car - UPDATE

We have a winner!

UPDATE
We have a winner! Congratulations to Alex B and his new GT40 Replica. You can check out the highlights of the build of his new P 'n' J here:

Not so long ago we told you that PistonHeads was going to work with the Forza Motorsport team as we build up to the launch of the new Forza 4 game. Today, we can share some more information as the countdown to launch ticks away.

As we type, game god Dan Greenawalt from Forza development team, Turn 10, is pondering over your questions on the other side of the Atlantic, quite possibly cursing under his breath at the difficulty of some of the questions you asked. As he ponders, let’s talk about the game some more.

We all know what to expect from F4 right? Well, perhaps not, as it seems to be taking things to an entirely new level. It might not be gameplay, but the Autovista showroom offers the chance to view extraordinarily detailed supercars, including the Ferrari 458 Italia, Bugatti Veyron, McLaren F1 and MP4-12C. You can even sit inside and start the engines. If you can stomach it, there’s also an option to have Jeremy Clarkson’s voice give you an audio tour.

Want to win one of these? Of course you do

For those that like to drive rather than look at pictures, Forza 4 offers full integration of Xbox 360’s Kinect motion-control gaming functions, too – head tracking lets you check your mirrors, glance through a side window (to nail every apex), while voice control speeds up menu navigation. There’s also novelty value in steering simply by holding your hands in the air and turning them as if holding an invisible wheel, but for serious racing you’ll want to use the controller or (preferably) a proper racing wheel.

But before we tell you more let’s get to the good bit: to celebrate the game’s launch on 14 October, Xbox is building a Tornado GT40 replica (see pic) over five days in London’s Westfield shopping centre (the west London one, not the one in Stratford), with work starting on Sunday 9 October.

Every day you’ll be able follow the build via live video feeds (an acceptable version of voyeurism) and also vote on key component choices as the car is built (If you fancy it, you can pop down to the shopping centre to see the build happening live). When you vote you’ll be entered into the draw to win the finished, road-ready (and track-ready, if you desire) car, plus plenty of spares too. Yep, one of you will win the car just for telling us something as simple as what wheels the car should have.

Make sure you look at www.forza4westfield.co.uk when the site goes live on 4th October for more details. We’ll be keeping you updates on the build as it progresses and we’ll also be meeting the lucky chap who ends up winning the car.

That would be GT5 :P
I can't be bothered with this. I want to see Forza come to PC.

You don't need the licences to progress. I found this out after doing all of them!

It doesn't and, because of this and just how good I believe Forza 4 is going to be I might be getting rid of my PS3 for an Xbox.

I spluttered my fairtrade organic vegan couscous onto my recycled eco-friendly copy of The Guardian as I read this, surely our brother women (?) should be allowed to enter too? This is typical of the right winged, male orientated world of cars, speeding, Clarkson, blah, blah, blah wink

with used X box 360s being so cheap it's just a shame there is no way I can properly use my logitech wheel with it. Still GT5 has promised a big update and DLC and F1 2011 is plenty fun.

This could be the game that forces me to buy a console for the 1st time since the PS2, as if my sleeping habits aren't bad enough.

Alright, ridiculous and ever-sunny optimism here.

Being a kit-car, will that Tornado be cheap to insure? Because I really really want it but at 18... cry
