Russ' Daimler dragster is so impressive, great English engineering biggrin and still a gorgoes car to this day.

The Swedes know a thing or two about crazy turbo set ups!

This Volvo is a stunner, everything is immaculate on it, mile deep black paint, all parts polished, machined, anodized - lovely. Run a best of 7.11 this summer, with a 2l Volvo 4pot and a mahusive turbo, sounds nuts.

Love the old drilled spoke wood rim steering wheel biggrin

The Volvo and the Curtiss are both a joy to behold.

I really like this thread because it appreciates the technical side of things and nobody's moaning or taking umbrage about anything, just enjoying great engineering.

Talking of bikes ... Peter Svensson's Top Fuel bike is very tidy and contains some admirable engineering, e.g. the control system and unusual clutch. Quite quick, too!

On the bike front how about Per Bengston's Bentec special? Completely homemade triumph based parallel twin. Awesome work.

I'm sure one of the SuperTwins used to have a 1/4 fuel hemi as well?

That´s the one, Per is running some BAE-based TMD engine parts if I remember correctly,
a bit visible on the valve cover.

Pictures ?

Look here : bentec.net/the_beast/

European Champion 2011, 1.04 60ft, 6,49ET, and always riding with big sideways flames.

Per is also the man behind the Bentec planetary transmissions and clutches that

are successfully used worldwide in Dragbikes.

You rang ?
Stefan Junerud´s "Nitro Twister" was the one, sadly he races no more, don´t know why.
(Displacement ist slightly too much for modern blown V-Twin rules.)
Maybe PiPPi can give more info if he looks in here.

Don´t even get me started on Jan Honée´s marvelous blown nitro single,
if you ever heard it you will never forget it, if you never heard it :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sNsIbfZX3k
This was 16 years after starting with a Jawa speedway engine, how´s that for commitment ?
The fastest time ever :

Check out the burnout on a steel plate
which is attached to the frame with quick-release pins,
then lifting the tire and keeping it warm and clean into prestage.
The man weraing blue bermudas is Gerard Willemse, Jan´s partner in "Swallower Racing"
and now sooo busy in his machine shop and producing PUMA parts
that he had to sell his 1700cc blown parallel twin engine project to Hans-Olaf Olstad.
Gerard was UEM ST/TF Champion years ago, beating the big H-Ds with an 820cc blown Puma-Triumph parallel twin.
Jan was starting a 2.000cc blown single (!) project, some parts were finished,
but then he built a house and -so far- never finished it, I still have some small hope that he does it.

Lovely bike, sounds good too. Nice to see he stuck with it too!
