Hey All

Mrs A and I want to get away this Christmas, maybe even over New Year too. Originally we were thinking of New York, but we've been to Florida already this year, so spunking another £3k on New York probably isn't a good idea. BA are doing a good deal at the moment with flights and accomodation in the Walford Astoria for ten days, for about £2k for both of us, but add spends to that and it starts getting silly.

We'd like to have a Christmas dinner if at all possible, but other than that we're not really bothered about the 'festivities'.

Has anyone else ever done this and could offer any recommendations? Home or away, doesn't really matter.

Cheers

Can't remember the last time we were at home for Chrimbo.

This year we are off to The Dolomites cross-country skiing, staying in mountain huts and snow shoeing amongst other things.

Thailand, and The Dolomites, I'm sure will be fantastic, but we won't realistically be able to do either for less than £3k for both of us will we? Including flights/hotel/spends.

Flight centre always come up trumps for us when booking Thailand.Once you're there it costs peanuts to eat out etc but unfortunatley the getting there is the expensive bit.

Our 10 days in the Dolomites is costing way less than £3000 all in for the two of us.

Agree with above NYC at Christmas is bloo*y cold. It was between -5 and -10 the last time we were there at Christmas (wife's brother lives there). Dolomites will be around freezing. biggrin

Sorry to jump on the OP's thread, but I'm also looking at a Christmas getaway and thought we could share ideas!

Hubby & I are looking at £2k max for a week away in the sun. Due to work, the earliest we can fly out would be Fri 23rd Dec and we'd need to be back for work on 3rd Jan. Ideally we want a pitch up, unwind and chill out holiday - any location / resort suggestions over Christmas week would be really appreciated, cheers.
