chim alarm problem

just found the problem after taking the dashboard out !!
my trusted meta alarm is completely burnt out and i mean burnt out the board is useless anybody know if this problem is caused by location of board or just end of alarm life span its a meta m99 t? by the way none of the fuses have blown which is worrying !

anyone know where i can purchase new m99 t box or board ?

please help!!!!!!

I had exactly the same in my chim 6 weeks after buying it, did you start to get a slightly dodgy smell coming from the vents? I certainly did. Anyway, I got mine removed and replaced with a Cobra alarm which I was assured are considerably better as the m99 t can be disabled too easily. I used Dave Batty to get mine done and he will also get a seperate boot locking/ opening device put on as well.

If it's a Meta 99T2 then parts are readily available from Meta or TVR. If it's a Meta 99T1 forget it you can't get replacement parts that will talk to the other bits of the system. A new Meta 99T2 control box and siren is less than £200.

I had a lot of problems with my 94 chim locking me out, alarm failed to disarm, set etc intermittently.

Carl at Bike and Performance fitted a brand new MEta, microwave plus immobiliser.

Fault with my previous alarm.......two systems bodged together, the connecting box full of water.

Carl stripped everything out and fitted the new alarm..excellent.
