**Most ridiculous TVR Option**

I sometimes read adverts for certain TVRs and come across the "heated seat option". This just makes me laugh for the following reasons;

1. The Seats get hot by themselves by the cabin warmth and also the owners bum.

2. Having suffered many times with the TVR wet shirt back syndrome why would I want to sweat anymore?

3. If you are cold in a TVR that has fully warmed up then something must be wrong with your body thermostat..

What is the point of this option?

I have to admit that I enjoy my heated seats when I first get into the car on a cold winter's day or when the roof is off over winter.

I think it is meant to dry the sweat on the seat when you get out.

Heated seats are great in Winter Roof off most of the time and they keep the chill out and help dry you after being caught in a downpour with the roof panel back at home

Must disagree, in my opinion the most ridiculous TVR option/fitment is the radio.

Never understood it, I can count on one finger how many times I've used mine. Even on the longest trip I never tire of the rumble, pops and bangs for that lovely V8.

Drying the sweat out is a good one...Or in the case of an old S2 that I had, drying the rain off the seats and my suit..

The radio is quite a good one I have a CD player fitted and rarely listen to it as the V8 din drowns it out (not that I am complaining)

Just thought of the most shocking option:

It was the one for the US market years ago, where they sleeved the engine down to 2 litres if I recall.

Now, having to pay to emasculate your V8, surely that is the worst 'option'?

Ours worked the last time I tried it. Last Semptember.

The ice detector. If it's that cold out there you should be driving carefully anyway. You don't need a red/yellow/green light to tell you.

Or the external temperature reading on my T350. It's usually at least 10deg above the real temperature. Best option is the maximum speed achieved reading though

What about the hand brake, surely they could save a few quid and do without it,.They dont work anyway...

OK as you ask I'll tell you, I specified this option on my Griff when it was new because I happen to like driving with the roof off, even in winter. On a cold winter's day with clear blue skies it's great, and I can warm my back up too! If you like roof off motoring they are a good option. Rich...

If you are thinking about the 2 litre V8S... it was for the Italy market because of tax issues and they fitted a supercharger to make up for it...

The previous owner of the V8S had a CD autochanger, but I cannot hear the thing over the engine. I think I might take it out and put it in the golf.

IIRC the most ridiculous option is a coloured boot carpet. I mean, why? Not as if you spend alot of time looking into the boot is it?

Service every 6K .. should be 10 or 12K - or yearly ..
it's a modern world - all other cars have this !
