I was in the R8 V10, was a fantastic day and new GP circuit is a joy to drive and new wing and facilities were great.

It was a great day indeed only marred by the number of Red flags 3 of which were because drivers ran out of petrol and of course the accident at the end.

Alf I followed you round for a few laps, I was driving the Silver RS250 Meg. Karl, did you get down to garages 32 and 33? The nice guys at RenaultSport let me do 8 laps in the 265 Trophy!

Dave - I was working in the Renault garages and did about a dozen laps in the 265 and about a dozen in the Clio 200.

I think we did - no problem at all. Perhaps see you on some of the Renaultsport Trackdays in 2012...

Hi guys

I was there too in my yellow Caterham, in garage 31 with Dave and co (nice to meet you all!). Would also like to thank the Renault Sport team for the laps in the Megane, which was pretty good fun but reminded me how rusty I am now with FWD!

It was another excellent day by Silverstone Track Days and although there was a higher level of traffic and red flags than I've seen on previous days with them, I still had a great time and was pushing quite hard smile

Got a few videos on YouTube here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWMqtNfmOnI - three full laps right at the end of the day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-7bfhc3AmY - a whole bunch of mistakes and slides, lots of fun biggrin

Don't know if anyone else had problems with the SL63 driver but myself and two Ginettas got caught up with him. Shocking driving standards. Here's the video anyway:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv92NRD9uuo

But don't let that incident detract from what was another excellent day. Looking forward to going back next year smile

Yes i came across him also in my R8 V10 and was cut up i recall. There was some other shocking driving also and have to say was from 2 'green' (not yellow wink ) caterhams. Myself and my mate who drove my car also (both experience kart racers) were cut up too many times and whereby both were racing each other and diving into the corners to overtake. Now i always show respect for faster drivers and will commit to a corner but move away qucikly once through but was not impressed with this standard of driving.

didn't let that spoil a great day though...

Apparently, he was the one driving the liveried Aston in the afternoon. He was giving pax laps to someone who had bid for them at a charity auction...

The Merc driver is obviously so engrossed in their own world they're not using their mirrors but there's no point boiling your piss over it. Back off, pootle through the pits to get as much space as possible and then go back out. And have a word with the organiser when you come in after your session. If you hang in there behind them getting more frustrated chances are you end up coming off worse.

The Merc driver was annoying and not following the `rules`, but IMO, you should always mention it to the TDO. They don`t like it anymore than you do. It could be the drivers first ever trackday, a word from the TDO, maybe a little instruction and reminding of the `overtaking rules` could save him from frustrating other drivers and you from being frustrated.

Easy to say sat here in front of my keyboard, but if I have an issue with a driver, I mention it to the TDO, on the day when they can do something about it.
