Simple enough question for me, but there's thousands of folks who "support" the big clubs who have never set foot in the UK let alone Manchester, Merseyside or London.
I'm a simple soul, I was born in Chester, I grew up in Chester, I went to the same school as the Old Boys who jointly founded Chester City FC, I hate Wrexham, not too keen on Shrewsbury (but that's more a rowing thing than a football thing) so I support Chester (City) FC for my sins.

What are your excuses?
Regards
Iain

I was born in Doncaster, live in Doncaster and go to Uni in Leeds.

So I'm a Leicester City fan through and through.

The reason being, my mother and father left Leicester to come here a year or so before I was born. So although I'm Doncaster born, I'm Leciester blood, all my relations live there and my dad was an avid fan. Guess it rubbed off on me.

Born in Clerkenwell in the then Borough of Finsbury -absorbed into Islington in 1964. Only one team in Islington, actually only one team in London. Dad and his 5 bros used to stand on the corner of the Clock End during the 30s but he didn't push it at me and I wasn't much interested in footie until I was 13 (simultaneously got in to motor sport and cricket too in 68). Went to the FA Cup game in Mar 68 where Birmingham equalised Bobby Gould's goal owing to a goal keeping error. Got hooked by the Gunners (pre- Nick Hornby)and even though they were unfashionable and unsuccessful at the time they clearly had so much intrinsic class as a club that the Lee Valley Contemptibles held no attraction for me - having a well developed sense of style even at that age.
Double won within 3 years rather confirmed what a good choice I'd made. Both my lads have followed the (now) family tradition and are to be seen (if you know what they look like) in the background of this pic biggrin

Although I was born and bought up in London . .

My Dad studied in Manchester in the 60s so supports Utd.
I was 4 at the time of the 1977 Cup Final and picked the opposite team to him.
The 80s were fun !
Since then has largely been challenging with a lot of false dawns.

Born within 5 miles of the ground, 2 teams in the City but only one with the style and class to impress me. My Dad was a fan too, but not really into the game in a big way. Growing up it was great fun to be following the most successful club in the country, but the years since then EPL was founded have been a bit leaner, apart from a few spikes in Europe and the odd FA Cup. Reckon we'll do the Mancs at the weekend, though!

I'm currently having a break from being a Villa fan!biggrin I have supported them all my life due to being bought up by the ground in a Villa mad family. Despite following them closely for so many years I have yet to come to terms with the fact that our chairman gave our biggest rivals £2 million for a manager they wanted to sack but couldn't afford to.

So it's sutton coldfield town fc for me at the moment.biggrin though I aim to watch a boldmere st Michaels match soon.

my dad was moved to nottingham when i was 6, started to get into football then (claimed to be a leeds fan before)and my first live match was at the City Ground, never looked back.

We moved back south when I was 11, but I have stayed a Trickie through hell and high water (lots of hell at present). Interestingly people all over the world recognise the club badge and immediately talk about Cloughie.

Born in newcastle, lived here for 29 years.

Support: Barcelona.

Reason: Newcastle are now an embarrasement and run by idiots. I prefer watching Barcelona over any other team and havnt missed many games recently.
Whether or not that means I support them or just like watching them I'm not sure?

Father and his family are from West Bromwich, about 1/4 mile from The Hawthorns. When I was young my footballing hero was Peter Shilton, so I had a soft spot for Forest, but on the odd occasion I was taken to watch football, it was to WBA; this was the late 70s when they were pretty good! Watched them regularly home and away since I became a student in 1989, including some great away days during our 2 seasons in the third tier of English football, and am still a season ticket holder. smile

Born in Bolton, lived in Bolton all my life.

Dad's from Bury and took me to watch them as a kid. Still go watching them now and histories repeating itself with the 3 'Shakers' I'm bringing up in Bolton!

Save them from lots of pain in the future, move somewhere with a decent football team. biglaugh

Grew up in West London, supported Brentford as a kid (and still do have a big soft spot for them) and went to games, until Sky TV came along, and the realisation that i would never, ever see my team on telly. Even at 12 i knew i was going to be more of a TV supporter than a regular stadium visitor, so so aged about 12 i looked for the nearest premier league club - Chelsea.

I support Kingstonian FC (Ryman Premier South) - I got fed up watching a load of overpaid tossers, playing for a club whose obsession was how to milk every last penny out of their proper fan base. A club that when I really thought about it, I realised I felt no attatchment to despite supporting them since I was a kid.

Now I go to games with an average attendance of around 360, I know pretty much everyone there, from the supporters to the players and management. I'm their official club photographer and last season alone went to 42 games home and away, furthest being Lowestoft on a tuesday night in february.

It's good fun, plenty of banter although the start to this season has been hellish - lost 7 out of the first 9 games played!
