I have an O2 Joggler connected up to some speakers. I can watch TV / iPlayer, listen to the Radio, browse the Web, YouTube, watch films from my NAS, it's brilliant. They don't sell them anymore though so you'd have to get one off ebay.

PHer 'euroboy' has his installed like this:

As in technology or fitments?

Be wary of fitments as spare parts are a nightmare to get and they are prone to being flimsy. Use 'standard' size cabinets so it easy to find new fittings rather than fix old.

Lighting is always good fun - led strips/spots etc

Mixing materials - gloss with matts, woods with paints, handleless or electronic openers, oversized worktops etc

There are numerous tv's that can be built into doors rather than being slung undernetah cabinets.

A good kitchen designer should be able to advise!

We have one of those, an a tap that gives out boiled, filtered water instead of a kettle.

We put in LED lights under all the units, top and bottom, and everyone loves that.

Things I wish I'd done:

Speakers in the ceiling linked to a Sonos
One of those pop up power units, if only because they're cool ;-)

Things I wish I hadn't done:
Funky corner unit with swing out shelves - we just don't use it enough and I'd rather have a big cupboard.

Get the best lighting you can - good lighting is so useful in the kitchen.

For me, what I would really like is speakers in the kitchen that are linked to an amp that supports AirPlay - I use my iPad in the kitchen a lot for recipes and it would be great to be able to stream music or radio from it to some decent speakers at the same time.

I've just decided NOT to have ceiling speakers as a Sonos or Apple unit with speakers seems more than adequate for a kitchen.

agree, we have a play 5 in the kitchin but the new play 3 would be fine and so easy to move around if needed.

Agree, nothing wrong with a Sonos unit in the room, but our kitchen is quite minimal so it would be one less thing on the worktop and one less thing to clean. As we had the ceiling off anyway, I wish I'd done it. I suspect I get better sound from speaker unit on the surface though.

I'm just having ceiling speakers installed in the living room. They are directional so work well as I'll always be sitting in one place so can set them up for the best sound. You normally move around a kitchen so it's not so crucial I would say.

I guess the other one we did that I'm glad for is a cupboard mounted microwave. Didn't think we'd use it that much but it's really useful for two things:

Heating up my Ready Brek in winter
Defrosting stuff

Oh, and a double oven has been a real boost too!

A built in Bosch Microwave & tradional oven all in one that you can combine the two as well.( Would definately have again)

A very large oven that will take an 8 Rib of Beef roast +

A Six ring gas hob & a Wok/Karai burner.

Double Fridge/Freezer with built in Ice/Water font, (beer fridge in the garage )

Two half size dishwashers, much more useful than one normal size, as there are just 2 of us it's more useful as regards water usage, and we don't have to wait long to fill the smaller size and not having any dirty dishes smell that sometimes occurs.

A Spice cupboard.

Im trying to decide, due to space issues, whether to have a full size oven along with either:

A) steam oven and warming drawer or

B) combo microwave/oven and warming drawer.

Can always put a stand alone microwave in the utility if needed but just not sure if The steam oven is worth it - Anyone got one?
