Is it just me or does anybody else agree that a predatory sexual pervert with a pre-existing criminal record who glasses a young woman in the face and half blinds her after sexually assaulting her deserves slightly more than two years in prison (realistically translated to half that or less)?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2045190/Ru...

And yet nobody in the article appears to be that concerned. The defence asked for his sentence to be suspended. The club this primitive played for said that he was OK to come back and play for them as long as he got a suspended sentence. Even the victim says she's happy with the sentence. It beggars belief.

Oh, wait, he's a promising rugby player. Mystery solved. If I'd have been that woman's fiance he would be a dead rugby player but I guess that's just me.

Without wishing to come over as the internet hardman here rugby player or not if someone did that to my OH I would be in the dock or they would have to be capable of seriously hurting me because I am 99% certain that were my OH glassed in the face by such a bloke I would be capable of murder.

Two years is fine. As long as each and every day he gets beaten to within an inch of his life.....

As the op says he probably wont even be in for a year. Unless its different for violent crimes its usualy 50% at least, maybe less with a tag and if he pleaded guilty its automatically 1/3rd of to start with.

It's nice to know that we can rely on our justice system, it must be ste to be a police officer and have to risk serious injury arresting scum knowing that society will make excuses for them and let them off with a metaphorical clip around te ear.

Nice.
The judge should have recalled him to the dock and doubled his sentence.

Isn't there now the opportunity for the CPS to appeal if they believe the sentence is too lenient?

This is certainly a case in point.

It beggers belief that he sexualy assaults her, then when she slaps him, he glasses her in the face meaning she is pretty much blind in one eye.

I can't believe his employer was happy to give two references for him, and give him another contract!!!!

Utter utter scum (that includes his family, and his employers)

Let's hope the fans of that club show their disdain then as well.

It's things like that which make these overpaid underbrained scum think they can do what they like.

In a statement, the Wildcats said: "Johnson, who joined the club in April until the end of the 2011 season, has been immediately dismissed by the club following being found guilty of the incident which took place in February 2011, before he joined the Wildcats.
