Grounds for divorce?
Discussion
Was driving the wife's car to work today, couple of coppers in a motorway car seemed to be very interested in me, even though I was in a boring black focus, sitting at lights and wearing a boring brown suit. Couldn't understand how I caught their eye as a potential law breaker. Eventually pulled me over... transpires that their magic computer had automatically told him that my wife's insurance policy on the focus had expired in July and I was therefore driving uninsured.
The policy on my own car didn't cover me 3rd party as I own the wife's car.
Long story short... They let me proceed once I had arranged insurance, but I will now get a court summons and a likely conviction for driving without insurance. And I not quite sure what I did wrong, other than trust my wife, which kind of has to go with that territory, right?!!!
Pretty sure I can't wriggle out of the conviction either?

In the theme of keeping is short(ish)
No excuse, as a driver of a vehicle need to know that it's safe and legal to drive etc. potentially worse as if you are the legal owner of the vehicle and I guess re tax, MoT all your responsibility too!
Sorry to be so blunt, good luck hope you get it sorted in the best possible way.

You own the car but she's "responsible" for insuring it?...wife's insurance policy on the focus had expired in July and I was therefore driving uninsured.

Another one who wasn't given the duties of a husband booklet upon marrage.
You are responsible for all household motoring matters which includes fuel, insurance, tax, mot etc and any female inflicted malady that the vehicle has been subjected to.
Is that the booklet that sits in between those valuable pamphlets "BBQ'g - It's the only cooking real men do" and "Don't tell her you love her, it'll make you look like a pussy" ??!You are responsible for all household motoring matters which includes fuel, insurance, tax, mot etc and any female inflicted malady that the vehicle has been subjected to.
