Remeha better than both and combis aren't suitable for two bathrooms. Do it properly with a cylinder.

Worcester Greenstar 28i, consider a power flush if system has not previously had one.

A 28i junior really isn't suitable for the op's situation.
As stated a system boiler and unvented cylinder would be much more suitable.

It's like 'I'm after a car that I can drive across the field to my house in mid-winter when it rains heavily. MX-5 or M3'
Would it be wrong to say, "You need a 4x4, Mate."?

Are they really as good as everyone says? I've never actually come across one.

I fit Worcesters in my job and tbh I wouldn't want to be working on one when they start breaking down. PRVs look like a pig to change and there is a worrying amount of plastic being used on them.

Vaillants I'm not too impressed with either, they all seem to leak after a few years. That said both Worcester and Vaillant are a LOT better than some crap on the market!

I agree with Mr Jackson about using a combi with two bathrooms, hot water performance will be woeful if it is a busy household. Also take into account that combis are priority hot water, so if there is a high hot water demand you may find the heating will suffer.

If you ever want me to tell you a story about a 4 year old Worcester combi breaking down, then let me know.

Worcester don't install, maybe your son had an accredited installer fit his boiler, either way a 28i junior isn't suitable for a 4 bed 2 bath property.

Worcester are not as reliable as they used to be, they are also the worse for condensate freezing if run external. If you want a combi I'd go Vaillant, they also make one with a small hot water storage tank-ecotec 937. The ecotec's did have some problems when they first came out but been pretty reliable for the last couple of years.
Problem is everyone you speak to will have good and bad stories with both but I'd say definately stick with one of those two and not some of the other censored out there

Of course it is down to one’s own personal experiences, and mine with Worcester Boilers and service is good.

One example of their excellent service is that 5 months ago I purchased a property with a Worcester combi boiler installed. When the tenant/s were using the shower, the boiler would stop producing hot water. My regular boiler engineer recommended a possible new heat exchanger and a power flush, but was recommended to try the power flush first.

The power flush failed to correct the problem with the hot water system, the engineer suggested a new heat exchanger costing 700.00 to supply and install, with no guarantee that this might work.

I phoned Worcester direct, it was suggested I take out an annual maintenance contract costing 23.00 per month, this I did @ 10.30 am, at 11.30 a phone call from a Worcester engineer confirmed he would be with me within the hour. By the afternoon of that same day, Worcester had replaced the heat exchanger and another part (possibly second heat exchanger), and the boiler has functioned correctly ever since.

All 15 rental properties I own all have Worcester Boilers, my engineer knows them inside out, parts easily available, and an example of their above service, why change?

I have a remeha advanta 39Kw monster. The only thing that slows the hot water down is poor cold water supply to the boiler. It can deliver 17L/min of hot water which is about the maximum you can comfortably get through a 15mm pipe without excesive noise or cavitation.

Ditto have a Remeha Avanta 39c setup in a 3 bed semi with u/floor heating on the ground floor. Shower direct off the mains and while we only have 2 small children its fine. When we extend and the kids get older (and shower more) we will get a cylinder added and the 39c modified into a system boiler.

perfect solution alround.
