Brake pipe changed this morning, bled and topped up reservoir. Drove about this afternoon on a mixture of roads. Went to leave to go home CHECK BRAKE FLUID message flashing on dash. Checked brake fluid reservoir, it's at minimum. Haven't checked the pipe yet as it's dark so will recheck in the morning.

If pipe is ok should I assume it's an air bubble or rebleed? Is there a recommended top up procedure that I am unaware of?

Check you've not got a leak first, the fluid isn't evaporating. The easiest way is to eezibleed starting at the wheel furthest rom the reservoir and working your way back till you've done all four.

if you have to ask the question! i would say you do not have the nessecery knowledge to be doing the job in the first place? and that you should have checked for leaks before taking on the road.

Didn't do the work myself, don't have the tools to do it. Garage did it, drove the car away and later in the afternoon started the car for the journey home and dashboard flashed low brake fluid warning and so was curious if, not being a BMW dealer/ indie, they had omitted to do something specific. It turns out that they had done things properly but either a. didn't refill the brake fluid reservoir properly or b.there was an airlock bubble that worked it's way out of the system. Either way it was at min line and simply refilled it to max line and all seems well now.
