Good feeling I paid mine off 10 years ago, continued the payments into a new car fund for a five years and got a shiny new car. Much more fun that a mortgage

Son and partner started their offset mortgage today, and due to poor interest rates i was achieving in savings accounts, i temporary reduced their mortgage to just 5k.

Good feeling isn't it. I paid mine off earlier this year too. As you say having had a mortgage since my 20s it's a good feeling to look at the bricks and mortar and think, I own that. Well done. And like you a Griff in the garage too.
