With the heat turned right down I get warm air, with it turned up the smallest amount I get hot air and with it turned right up I get toasted!

Not a problem if the weathers nice, but a bit sticky if its warm and raining.

Is this normal for chimaeras?

Thanks
Jeremy

Sounds normal for all TVRs.

There's been a discussion on the Griffith board about this very subject. It looks like adjustment is possible.

Ah, a solution to melted shoes and sweaty nads then. Though that was an extreme circumstance (stuck on the A1 for 45 Minutes!). But would be nice to have cold air rather than hot! Will check out the thread.

An aside though, the vent on the drivers side on the right just below the main dash was never working on mine. Checked it out and the tubing had come loose from the blower. Re-attached and checked it out and it now blows nice cold air at the mid part of the body. I dont ever get hot air from it (strange). But worth checking if this has become detached. This differs from the footwell vent which is right down in the drivers footwell - which of course is no use to man-nor-beast when stationary - cos is sucks the air from under the car, which is nice and hot!!!! Fine for on the move though.

Cheers,

Paul

On my car the RHS facia vent is cold only, as is the RHS footwell vent. I believe they come from a sep. intake from the heater vents and have sep. fan control (under dash on RHS). If I remember correctly the vents by the gearstick seem to blow cold only on mine too!

I did try to work out what was supposed to be where once, but decided that TVR just connect random hoses to wherever they'll reach and if two cars are the same it's just luck!

The temp of the "hot" air depends on the fluctuating engine temp so much that in anything other than steady state driving I'm constantly adjusting it anyway!
