T350c to Cerbera
Discussion
Hi All,
After a little advice please..
I currently have a factory T350C 4.0s Red Rose. Love it to bits. With help from Jason at Str8six, and about £4k, it is mechanically solid.
I have just become a father
and am considering changing to a cerb for the rear seats practicality.
a 4.5L cerb is, I think, the ideal. saw this http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3221932.htm with its 3 yr warranty and got very excited!!
Managed to calm down, have a think, and realized that I know nothing about pitfalls of cerb ownership. Any advice at all on things to be wary of would be greatly appreciated!
Stephen

Hi Bud,Just make sure you get it checked over the main things to look out for are
1.Chassis condition/mainly outriggers
2.good service history(recent)
3.Engine/oil pressure.Should be around 60 on cold tickover,40-50 hot tickover
The list can go on but if you have a tvr anyway then you will know this. One big bit of advice is shop around for prices when having work done as this vary's alot from garage to garage.
ps make sure the engine has had its tappets checked or done recently.
ps ps get one they are a great

As an existing TVR owenr you shuld know about genral conditon, particularly underneath.
I assume it's not actually fully 'run in' yet with the rebuild less than 100 miles away. I would get any post rebuild checks factored in, re-torquing the heads, changing the oil and poss valve clearance. I'm sure Dom at Power will make that availble to the new owner as part of the rebuld costs but worth asking the question.
Nice looking car btw.

Steve,
Have a word with the guys at Central, they normally do all the work for Stephen James to get his cars ready for sale.Adrian is a really friendly bloke & will do an inspection for you if you wish.He may already know of any issues the car has.
Good luck
Central? sorry, I'm a bit of a dumbass too!Have a word with the guys at Central, they normally do all the work for Stephen James to get his cars ready for sale.Adrian is a really friendly bloke & will do an inspection for you if you wish.He may already know of any issues the car has.

Thanks Dave! as they say, it is not what you know, etc! etc!
Thanks to you others who replied too. All valuable advice!
That's the car that went for under 10k overnight when it was advertised last December. I'd booked a day off work to go and look at it - but it was snapped up over the phone within hours. I wondered when it would reappear! Someone made a nice profit, even if it has needed some work...
