Hi all.

Good news was that my trip to Le Mans went without a hitch.

Bad news is that this afternoon I can't now start the car. Turns over fine but it seems like a fuelling problem.

First thing was that I swapped DME relay for a spare - didn't help, but of course both may be defective.

After searching the web I tried jumping the fuel pump fuse (no. 6) with another power feed and it started immediately with no problems i.e. fuel pump, sensors etc. *seem* OK.

As soon as the jumper was removed the engine died within a couple of seconds.

My question is thus - is there anything else obvious that I have missed that should be checked or is a fault with the 2 DME relays the most likely culprit?

I have dismantled one of the relays and the soldering etc. looks fine, but I've not got the equipment or knowhow to fully test the relay.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Phil.

Just a thought - my first 3.2 sidelined me completely - turned out to be faulty crank sensors - a common problem I was told at the time.

Thanks Rubystone.

Could be sensors, but a) when the fuel pump was made live by jumping at the fusebox it started immediately and b) after putting the DME relay back together (after my first post to PH) the car started straight away. No rough idling or anything.

I'll buy another DME relay anyway, but has anyone else got any other ideas on what could have caused this? Was thinking maybe the connector socket that the DME relay plugs into - are there any known problems with this connector or anything else that could cause these symptons?

Thanks. Phil.
