Hooning around like a flaming galah in Melbourne

If the weather is good you could try the Eureka Skydeck, Great views of the city. http://www.eurekaskydeck.com.au/
Take a trip on the free tram that runs round the CBD.

Cheers for the suggestions guys. I will def head down into town tomorrow and see if I can go up the Skydeck. I stopped by St Kilda briefly last night - seemed like a nice place.
Of course I forgot one other important activity for this evening (which the V8 racing reminded me of, oddly) - watching the Rugby World Cup at a time of day that is socially acceptable to drink beer!

If you go into the carpark at the Eureka tower there is something just as cool

Looking out of the window, it looks pretty average the weather today so if I was a tourist I would check out what is happening at Fed Square, then scoot upto the Eureka, maybe do a bit of shopping in Fitzroy or Chapel Street, lunch at Babble on Izzett, Sienna, or Amici's. For a later afternoon drink I would head to Fitzroy Street in St Kilda and pick a decent bar or something rustic like the Prince of Wales for robust banter with the locals. Suitably imbibed, head to Acland Street and the Luna Park area for some more cool shops. You could always go into Gasp and laugh at the staff (subject of these weeks viral on the internet http://www.theage.com.au/small-business/more-gasps...)
Me, i shall be dragging my arse into some clothes in a minute, straddling the bike and going for a lazy coffee down in one of the many cafes my lovely town has whilst Mrs S has her weekly nails and waxing done!

Cheers for all the suggestions guys, in case anyone was wondering, I filled my weekend with the following:
Saturday
Long walk along Brighton Beach up through Hampton followed by a trip to watch England vs France in the rugby (which, all things considered, was a waste of time).
Sunday
Went to St Kildas, then into the CBD for some exploration, and to the Eureka Skydeck (a worthy replacement for the Oxo tower perhaps?)
There were a lot of demon baby sculptures dotted around the centre of the city. That was quite weird.
If anyone is consulting this thread for the same reason in the future, definitely follow some of the useful suggestions that have been offered here. Melbourne is a most pleasant city to explore.
PS Sadly the Neighbours tour only runs Monday to Friday. Lazy actors!
