So how much should it wobble......................
Discussion
Haha!! Only the steering wheel chaps!
I was wondering how much wobble/vibration is typical for a healthy wedge?
My wheels have been balanced, tracking checked, column adjuster removed and bolted in place and the bulkhead bearing looks ok.
I have a bit of movement in the steering wheel if i take my hands off, seems to be more movement at lower speeds but to be honest it doesn't come through my hands when i'm holding the wheel. Certainly not uncomfortable.
The front tyres are evenly worn but quite old i think. As in maybe 7-10 yrs. Pirelli P zeros.
What's normal?

What kind of bearing is it? A proper ballrace or some kind of plastic or rubber bush? My original elliptical plastic thing (from the SD1 I believe) had wear that you could scarcely see but by the time it reached the wheel it had more play than a class of 6th-form girls on Taboo.Wedg1e said:

Its the rubbery plastic thing. Looks solid though..............I think it was replaced, once. Perhaps 20k ago............. lol
I replaced mine with one of these:

Just needed to enlarge the main hole in the bulkhead with a flapper wheel and drill new holes for the mounting bolts.
