The HT leads on my Formula Ford are too close to the overhead exhaust. I was told you can buy something like a heat shield to put around them but I can't find any product to do this. Can anyone help?

viper hoses sells heat sleeving, or the likes of Demon Tweeks, Merlin Motorsport etc

But sometimes it can turn into a small oven instead of protecting.

If the manifolds turn upwards, can you run the HT leads in from below instead ?

"heat sleeving" so that's the term - no wonder i couldn't find it. Thanks, Steve. You answered four minutes after I posted. What service!
Cheers,

We use aluminium tape to protect the coils and connectors closest to the pipes as we had a couple of the connectors melting. Also wrap it around the loom and it seems handy enough. The coils sit directly underneath the link pipe (which has it's own heat shield), but the exhaust temp in them gets up to 880degC and the tape seems up to the job.
