I am currently replacing my dashboard at the moment and whilst taking it all apart the 2 yellow triangle LED bulbs broke, I have replacements but I have just striped back the heat shrink rubber stuff and found each one as a capacitor on the end of one wire connecting to the old LED Bulb, do I need to replace that as well? or could I use the old ones or do I get rid of them all together? If I do need them, does anyone know what they are i.e. reference codes / type?????

There used to be someone selling these on Ebay and they came complete with the resistors in line.

If i recall you can get them from Maplins, but when I needed some I bought these

From Ebay (as mentioned)

Try a search for the Maplins product numbers

I did the same thing recently, I bought the ones from ebay and really pleased I did, they fitted perfectly and the guy is a TVR Chimaera owner too so takes pride in making sure his stuff is the best.

It's almost impossible to remove the old ones without breaking them. I got my replacements from the ebay guy too. They are exactly right and go straight in. I'm sure you could source and make them more cheaply, but to my mind it was worth the extra tenner or so not to mess around.

It would be a real pain to have to take the dash out again if it wasn't right.

I had a similar problem. While I was replacing my dash I decided to replace all the instrument bulbs "just in case" and now the tacho is much brighter than all the others. Top tip - switch everything on at night before you put the dash top back.

Its supposed to be - IIRC the tacho has 2 bulbs but the speedo only one. I have been in 3 chims at night all of them (and mine) had a brighter tacho.

And about 30 mins or more to put it together in a very professional manner.

I gave him £14 with pleasure.
