Help please - car insurance for a business trip

I've just had a surprising call with my insurance company. I'm driving my A6 to Germany in a couple of weeks for a conference and wanted to check I still had comprehensive cover over there. They said I'm not covered at all because its a business trip. Fair enough, I've got a personal-use policy. So I asked if I could pay for the extension, to which they said no. That leaves me with a bit of a problem. Any ideas please? Are there companies who would quote me a 4-day policy for this?

Why won't they let you add on business cover?

why would they say no? changing to business cover is easy and then the basic european cover also covers business use in most cases.
