Basically, all fibreglass cars will pose a problem for installing an aerial as it will not have a "ground-plane" to fully capture the signal.

A "better" solution is with Mr Beer: http://www.djbeer.hostingbt.com/id31.html

I have one and it's much, much better than the original, but still not perfect, esp for DAB, but, hey whose listening to the radio anyway??

legend has it (and my 98 chimaera conforms) that the aerial is a typical cheap telescopic, extended and laid (chucked)on top of the fuel tank behind the rear bulkhead.

And yes, it's crap

That's where the MOD-Wise (Mr Beer) kit is fitted.

well i guess most of you guys only drive every other weekend and put it to bed for the winter, so you got the novalty factor, but when its your every day driver its just nice to have the radio on when stuck in traffic or on a boring run.

If I hadn't thrown the first punch so to speak, I would take exception to that statement. tongue out

While it's never been completely my 'every day driver', I have averaged 7500mi / year since 99, including almost 4 years of that working from home (therefore no commuting miles). Rain or shine, even a 100 mile journey in a blizzard. There are few novelties left for us (the car and myself I mean), but the fun hasn't stopped smile

It was interesting to learn where the aerial is though (just in case I need one).
Good luck with it.

I have an amplified one behind the center mirror a la Mr Beer.

Usefull to distract my attention from the rising temp gauges on the M25.
