Anyone here participated in one? If so what are your thoughts? Todays was located in Nottingham and after much apprehension I had an amazing time! Great event staff, participants and route. For those who are unaware its a 10k run littered with various obstacle courses. Some good freebies too!
Yup, entered the very first one in Nottingham a few years back.
It was great fun and well worth doing. I entered with a bunch of work colleagues and it was a right laugh.
Just a couple of things.
I'm not super strong but found they over hyped the obstacles. Whilst massive fun they were no way near as tough as they made out and I think I wasted more time training for the obstacles when I should have been out running instead.
As long as you can run 10k ok then you'll be fine.
Don't bother with a camelbak. Complete waste of time (even though they advised it). It really is only a 10k run and the obstacles won't take so much out of you that you can't wait till the drink stop (if you need one).
Leggings and a long sleved compression top will protect you when doing the arm assault course but will weigh you down when crossing the river. If I did it again I'd wear shorts and compression T shirt as the river will wash off all the mud!
Lastly enjoy. It really is a laugh

Definitely agree, some of the obstacles were pointless especially where there were queues and I was expecting the stadium bit to be a bit more daunting. It was great fun and well worth doing. I entered with a bunch of work colleagues and it was a right laugh.

Loved the river bit despite nearly drowning, though it would have been a good death lol!
