went to look at it yesterday and the exhaust seemed very loud and had a turbo timer but he said was a standard car

Just looked on google maps, they are two miles from my house, never heard of them though, be very very careful buying a Noble from a company that knows nothing about them. A turbo timer is not standard nor is a loud exhaust Where are you in Essex

Steve Kerridge is an honest bloke,he would answer any questions you have, but somehow I can't see him trading a Noble, so he may have supplied to someone in the past.

im near southend the car was in harlow its says kerridges on the number plate ill get the number plate and phone him

When you turn the engine off and remove the key it allows the engine to continue to run, even when you've walked away. Most timers are exactly that, they run on for a predetermined time. As Phil suggested, it's just for people who can't remember/be bothered to wait.

I was under the impression that the harder you have been driving the car - the longer the timer keeps the enginge running but i could be wrong.
I have always thought they are a good idear, after all you cant be too safe. I know that sometimes i'm in a rush and don't leave my car idling as long as i'd like to.

You're probably right but from what I've heard the only info the majority of the basic systems have is a vac connection so they measure boost levels, how long they've been held and how recently to the engine shutdown, and work out the time required from an internal calculation. Whether there are more advanced systems I wouldn't know. I decided in the '90s that they were just a gimmick and not for me, but I appreciate that plenty may have changed since then.

when it says previous owner be aware its had 3 owners. Mine ended up for sale there and said the very same, considering i was the 3rd i messaged them and they gave a rather blunt/nasty reply.

it measures the time between flooring the throttle and the turbo spooling up. the faster the time the better the foofoo valve is working.

The log book should tell you how many owners. If it's a dealer just make sure that you get a good 'no quibble' warranty.

there i was minding my own business, thinking I'll have a quick look in the noble forum having deserted the fold earlier this year and lo and behold that's my car (well old car!!). Anything you want to know just ask as I was responsible for the last 21,000 miles it did.

thats handy, did you modify it in any way exhaust seemed very loud and had a turbo timer init.
