Best place for tyres?
Discussion
N/S/F is pretty much illegal now. Need a tyre, maybe with fitting. My uncle can fit tyres but has a habit of marking the wheel itself...
Dont need none of that winter b
ks, just black, and round will do for me
225 40 18 Y if it matters
It seems to be average brand is about £100, cheap and nasty are about £80 and the top stuff is £150+

Have you looked at My Tyres? Got my winters from them and they were the cheapest for the tyre only. I think they can recommend local fitters too.
Also if you are feeling brave Kwik Fit apparently have a 25% off all tyres sale.
Bugger! Must type quicker!

To be fair to Kwik-Fit, our leasing company switched to them at the start of 2010.
Every time I have been in to my local branch(a few times at 33k/yr), they have been polite, friendly and efficient; the only delay being getting authorisation from the leasing co.
(I've only got steel wheels though, so no alloys to damage!)
Had the MOT done there a couple weeks ago, they changed the blown numberplate lamp
during the test.

Oh and with mytyres, it'll probably be cheaper to buy the tyres and pay for the fitting separately. Paying for the tyres as 'fully fitted' would have cost me about 20 quid more.

Thats what i was thinking. I'm paranoid about my wheels getting damaged. They were refurbed last year and the one that needs changing, doesnt have a single mark on it.Oh and with mytyres, it'll probably be cheaper to buy the tyres and pay for the fitting separately. If i bought a tyre from the web, i wouldnt know who to trust with the fitting of it

Are kiwk fit all that bad?
Nope, they were the cheapest for me not so long ago for a pair of Michelin PE2's, beating Camskill, Blackcircles, Event Tyres and My Tyres. However, you do need to book and pay online - drive in off the street and they'll bend you over. The chap who did my tyres was a very young YTS type bod who was ultra careful with my alloys, so I was a happy bunny.

Try Camskill.....I have nothing but good things to say about Camskill, very good prices and always top notch delivery times.
I concur.Just got tyres from them this week. Couldn't fault the service or the price.

If using Camskill how much are people paying to get them fitted? When I last asked my local Inde what the fitting charge was, it made using Camkskill too expensive in comparison to the likes of Blackcircles. I can't remember what they quoted but it was something like £10 or £15 per tyre.
I've just bought a couple of tyres for the monaro from http://www.tyretraders.com/ they were quite a bit cheaper than camskill, but camskill were cheaper for my range rovers tyres.
