Reccommended pocket watch specialist in West Midlands..?
Discussion
When I was born my grandad passed down to me a gold Waltham pocket watch. I've looked around on eBay and it looks to be similar to other examples from 1920's & 1930's. I've only just collected it from my parents and established that it doesn't actually work properly. My dad suspects it's been overwound. That aside I'm sure it needs a damn good checkover and service.
I've checked the British Horologicial Association website and will use one of those folks (after a disappointing experience with my most local jewlers / watch shop) but just wondered if anyone had any experience with any of them specifically in the Midlands.. I'd prefer to take my watch to the shop / specialist rather than risk posting it, given that it has sentimental value. I'm more than willing to drive a good distance to give the watch to someone who'll look after it.
Thanks in advance.
