E36 M43 Engine/Cylinder Head

Could anyone confirm whether the 1.6 litre cylinder head is the same spec (camshaft/valves, etc) as the 1.8 litre M43 engine and if they are interchangeable?

A friend has got a damaged 1.8 cylinder head and is looking for a secondhand replacement - there appear to be more 1.6 litre ones for sale.

Yes, they're all the same. The head on the E46 1.9 litre M43TU is also the same.

Many thanks, really appreciate your reply, checked with BMW today and head, valve and camshaft specs seem to check out - but its great to have opinions of folk in the proper know
