Looking at the above,-and wondering if a re con original BMW unit or an aftersales kenwood or jvc unit is better. Seen a few on flea bay also, which is the prefered unit and has anyone on here had experience of both oem and other uits

Thanks

Would help if you told us the car smile

No matter how technically brilliant an after market unit may be, or how much you decide to spend on it, I'm yet to see one which I think looks like it fits in a BMW.

You can't be OEM in terms of integration and just looking right.

Hi

I have the widescreen BMW unit with CD frown and it is ok, but i have been looking at the aftermarket units on the bay £399 inc ipod, bluetooth and nav. It looks very similar to the OEM unit but I can't vouch for the reliability.

The OEM version is an expensive option if you add up all the units and wiring.

Let me know if you need any other help.

Peter am

My car is an E46 / 2003 M3,

Nick,

Thanks, and I have been quoted 1500 for a recon BMW unit fitted, or 1200 for aftermarket iPod / DVD capability.

Question,
Has the BMW unit got iPod capability?

Nope, I have just bought a DICE unit £99 on the bay, but no changer then. I have also bought a bluetooth ULF (£45), but it is a pain to fit. Well at least on my car!

Got to be worth a look, I was looking at Range Rovers before the M3 came along, and I seriously looked at these.

The Dynavin is generally regarded as the best replacement option.
