Thread asking for help deleted......

I started a thread asking for help in getting votes for my young daughters dance group, nothing new and have seen and responded to numerous such requests in the past, but mine has been deleted.

Have the rules change or am I just unlucky in not "getting away with it"

This is the email, which is perfectly clear and ok. Just seems strange as "these kinds of threads" have been a feature of PH since I can remember. Just wondered when the rules were changed.

Hi Jeeves (another moderator here).

I'm not sure we've ever particularly allowed them - perhaps moreso that they were overlooked in the past and we happened to notice yours?

It's much like our stance on birthday threads, charity threads etc. It's great that people want them to exist, but unfortunately with so many users on our site it would simply be over run and we'd lose the core of why we're here
