I’m looking to get my wife a passenger ride in a TVR for her Birthday, which is in late August. She is particularly fond of the Tuscan and Cerbera models, and a ride in one would really make her day. She has always loved TVR’s, even to the point that we bought a house just a stones throw away from the factory in Blackpool, so she could see and hear them every day.
I have searched the Internet and can only find rides in a Griffith, which is an excellent car, but not her dream car. I am willing to pay for the privilege and am willing travel to anywhere in the UK (Although would prefer the north of England)
Does anyone have any information of companies or organisations that may be able to help me?
Many thanks.

By ride do you mean drive one, or be a passenger in one?

Because there are companies that will hire you a TVR for the day/weekend so she could drive it herself. Barnet TVR does this, for example:

If, on the other hand, she just wants to be a passenger then a good way would be to join the TVRCC, go to a couple of local meets and just ask other members. I've given rides to a few people this way -though granted not in a Tuscan but in a Griff.

Depends when her Birthday is, but there are a number of local TVRCC meetings you could attend and get a spin. Blackpool, West Lancs, North West all have meetings, plus we have a PH meeting most months near Manchester Airport (tunnels & TVRs....the perfect mix).
Try one of these if it's just a passenger ride you're after.

Topcats Racing hire out a full-on Tuscan Racer. Never done it (too scared i think) but it is meant to be a great day

Wow what a response, I only posted this a couple of hours ago and already people are responding.

Janet’s birthday is Saturday August 28th so any events around that time would be perfect. I have contemplated hiring a TVR but found the cost a little too prohibitive (though have recently found a Tuscan at £315 per day + insurances).
I was really looking for a passenger ride. I don’t think she would want to drive one, being a diminutive 5 Foot 2 tall and owning a Nissan Micra, the sheer power of a TVR would probably be a little too daunting; although saying that, she is a game girl and would probably rise to the challenge.
The ideal day would be at a race meeting or such like where she could go round the track as a passenger in a Tuscan or Cerbera at near full chat.

The TVRCC can certainly assist. Please contact me at public-relations@tvrcc.com and I'll see what we can do.

Ralph - can you persuade Ben to get her a ride in the (recently-damaged) T440?

Ralph,

I sent an e-mail to the address mentioned, but our e-mail system can be a little flakey. Did you receive it? I don't want to appear pushy, but I want to be sure it turned up.
