there are lots of vids of chimps blowing away the competition

anyway, to answer the question, the big hair and body hair create drag, plus medallions weigh heavy

ah but yours was no more an ordinary Griff than mine is an ordinary chimp (400+ tbc, 440ftlbs). Nor Chillis for that matter (boxfresh 354...... and a half)

Having said that, mine is only very theoretically fast at the mo.

Don't know if it goes round corners yet, but i know it's going to be ------- fast!!

Should be on the road next week, still trying to get the exhaust looking as standard as possible but with the extra size for flow!
Hope to see you soon Andy

no doubt you've done a beautiful job of that one. That's not a standard Sportmotive £14k install is it ?

Of course, the REALLY quick one is going to be V8ndy's blown cobra powered...... chimaera. 627bhp eek

you chim boys come over spouting off about your big engined chims, but there have been griffs putting out big respectable bhp for some time, they`ve just stopped harping on about it, anyone can get a big chevy and drop in, fair play to them, but getting big numbers out of an old rv8 is a challenge, its only a few years ago anyone with over 300bhp was regarded as having a "monster", now its common place with more people carrying out mods, which is great.

all you have to remember is, when flying down the road in your chim, you`ll just look like a hairdresser late for a cut and blow job dry, whereas driving a griff fast you`ll look like a man with a purpose in life!hehe

besides, the arse end of a chim is so family saloon caryes

J`lows bum for me anydayhehe

Sorry guys.... sorry, just noticed, thead title was supposed to read 'why are Griffs so low', It's just that the last couple I've seen had noticeably less ground clearance than the Chim. Really sorry about the typo guys... feel really bad about it, sorry...
