Tea/coffee alternatives
Discussion
Since christmas when I drink tea I get really bad heartburn, Tried all the major brands and the cheaper ones and they all do it. Tried different milk/sugar combinations and no luck.
Tried some of the 'fruity' teas which are ok.
Cant stand coffee and dont like lift!
Are there any other drinks I could try, Brew time is not the same without a brew!

As said Peppermint is great for digestive system stuff, tastes good too. I'm a big fan of Green Tea, it's somewhat of an acquired taste for some folks, but if you get good stuff it's lovely. Generally worth avoiding the stuff from the supermarket, try and get it in leaf form. It can be bleedin' expensive if you want to try the higher end stuff, a mate gets given a pound of loose leaf stuff that's meant to be worth about a grand every time he goes to china on business. It's nice enough, but wasted on me.
How about mate (pronounced ma-té)? Massively popular all over Argentina, but you can get it here too.

Edit: I should add that I can't stand the stuff, but my brother and his Argentinian wife can't get through the day without it.

I drink Peppermint Tea to help settle my IBS after a meal, and enjoy the flavour of them too.
