3.0 s type mpg?
Discussion
Hi there , I've got a September 2002 S type 3.0SE Auto ,had it since nearly new , its' now done nearly 176,000 miles .
Apart form normal consumables the only replacements so far are , header tank , water pump , wiper rack . Whilst not a racer it has proved comfortable and relaible over a significant mileage.
Average MPG over the last 9000 miles is 29.4mpg

Out of interest, has the autobox oil ever been changed?Apart form normal consumables the only replacements so far are , header tank , water pump , wiper rack . Whilst not a racer it has proved comfortable and relaible over a significant mileage.

No , the autobox oil hasn't been changed , I have considered it given that in it's younger days I did use the car to tow a 20ft boat with large outboard , however the box is still smooth and predictable so have just left it alone .
Servicing was undertaken every 10,000 miles by a fantastic Jaguar Main Dealer in Farnham until the car had reached 110,000 . Since then it's been serviced every 20,000 miles by a local non-franchised .
Exhaust , battery , shockers ,etc are all original . It's always been hand washed and regularly polished ( Autoglym Super Resin ) , so still looks pretty fresh .
I was dubious about having a Jag when I first got it , bit the car has grown on me , and it's realiability has been awesome .
Would I have another Jag Waar ? Absolutely YES ( and I'm not over 70 !!! )
