That's very good indeed.

Mine was £400 last year with Admiral, fully comp, 6k miles, £200 x/s, clean record, me and wife to drive (although she can't reach the pedals) but I didn't have any no claims on a second policy so it pushed the price up.

However, I had quotes of up to £3k! ....bloody ridiculous.

Hence I took the £400 policy.

Jeese £870!

Are you 10, or Mr Magoo?

Mr Magoo = The little old short sighted fella in the cartoons who used to run into everything ....supermarkets, zoos, tram lines etc.

Hey I'm not that young that I don't know Mr Magoo!!

No, not 10 but 23. I paid £1500+ last year, for having it when I was 22. Was 23 about 3 weeks ago. So £870 is much better than over £1000.

Well that's pretty good considering your age.

I'm also impressed that you are not driving around in a maxed up saxo or fiesta. Instead you have excellent taste in fine British sports cars. Nice to see the S has such a universal appeal.

I take it your S doesn't have any underbody neons , a boot full of speakers , NOZ stickers , lots of sticky back carbon fibre film , alteeza rear lights , chrome M3 mirrors and a park bench rear spoiler?

I had quotes mainly circa 2k...excpet Quote Me Happy.. around £5k...
Just got quote on 4.3 Griffith £1100, fully comp value £15k for £1100 from Adrian Flux

I reckon shopping around heps alot. My drink drive adds about 100% to the premium... however owning and running a TVR is me sticking my fingers upto the system saying you are not buggering up my fun for a moment of stupidness never to repeated. I have owned my S2 since Feb and love it I want more speed and more noise now, howver I have read that the S is the most fun to drive... delimena now !!!!!!!!!!

Ah, mah man!! My ride is well wicked!! I have maxed it up with some phat wheels, slammed to the deck, wiv some Blue neons and a massive wing. I is finkin an extra 50bhp for the spoiler. Bling man!!

No actually, all I have done is fit AVO adjustables, Magnecore leads, painted rocker covers, alloy gear knob and steering wheels screws and S1 wheels. I do have a new SS sports exhaust on the way. Straight through, with no baffles!!

Although I do also have a seriously hotted up 1 litre mini, that I must confess to having a 250W 10" Rockford Fosgate Sub in the boot of and tinted windows.

Sounds like you're making a nice job of the S and your Mini doesn't sound too OTT either.

I must confess that my everyday ride (VW) has huge 18" Audi TT alloys and lexus rear lights and is chipped to an extra 35bhp. If it wasn't a diesel then I'd confess to being a petrol head!

I'd be interested to know (hear) what your straight through exhaust sounds like on the S, where are you buying one from?

Well it does have a big EBC Kevlar Brake sticker in the back window and I did "mod" the front "spoiler" a bit when trying to push a tree over with it the other month.

I do have a Saxo VTR and a Saxo VTS though too..

Cheers,
Matt.

Blimey Matt ....you must surely qualify as a complete petrol head. So, how many cars in the fleet now then?

Just the four... we had five for a while but Mrs H insisted that the Beetle ought to go as it was just sat around rusting and not getting driven. Four cars sounds flash but really it isn't.. we both have a Saxo each for the daily commutes, then the Landrover for getting stuff to the tip and getting logs and the like, and the TVR is the "fun" car for the sunny weekends.

Mrs H wants another Chimaera though so I think there may be a new arrival by the ned of the year..
