A friend of mine would like to know how much it's worth, she reckons £3k, I think closer to £2k max is more realistic. Its a MY04 soft top Ka in grey. It's the 1.6 luxury edition with heated seats, a 6 cd changer and 2 previous owners. Mileage is 35k. Bodywork isn't bad, but someones slashed the rear plastic window and it's got a 2 year gap in the service history. Any ideas? It's slow as st too...

Well couldn't you look at the prices of similar cars and work it out? I'm not going to bother doing that for you.

The prices are all over the place! No ones buying them now winter is coming, I say £2k is fair. I wouldn't buy one if it was the last car on Earth!

Which is why I'd put it on eBay...

Add them all together and then divide by the number of prices you put into the sum. That will give you the average price. If the car has faults then knock a bit off and explain on the advert that the price has been set at £xxxx because of the following.

So long as over the two years she hasn't done huge mileage the service history gap is not too much of an issue. The engine is OHV so no cambelt to worry about and only routine valve clearance adjustments are needed to keep them running nice and quiet.
I think they are cracking cars personally, the standard 1.3 Ka handles nicely enough and although I'm not sure what chopping the roof off does for their rigidity I am fairly sure the Streeka would go well around corners too and have a bit more poke with the 1.6.
The main issue will be the plastic screen and if she can get this sorted she should be getting closer to the £2k at this time of year, this model and the Sport can have fairly temperamental alarm systems. Despite the weather it would still make a cracking Christmas present for someone, if I could afford to I'd buy one for my wife I would and I'd be happy to drive it.

So £2-3k is probably about right. She could perhaps get closer to £3000 if she had the window sorted and a recent service, perhaps you could valet it for her as a clean car will add a bit too.
