Hi guys I could do with a couple of pointers With a couple of faults on a 03 350 was hoping for a quick fix
Low beam lights (Zenon)not working fuse ok relay swapped
Also speedo not working until a few miles are clocked up then it seams ok (not quite reading the same as digi read out )
Anyone know what the sender gap should be?
can any one put a finger on any dodgy characteristics / connections switches stalks etc before I go practising new yoga positions in all that under dashboard clutter and replacing speedo senders etc
And reminder on how to re calibrate the speedo would be apreciated
I could do with a wiring diagram if there are any out there please,

You may try the 100a fuse , some of the odd symptom are down to this. The speedo could be damp contacts on the pod ribbon connectors.I found that if I didnt use car for a week really odd things happened,we are now getting damp nights, one thing i did was to install a greenhouse heater in my garage, gave all electrics a liberal spray with wd40 or dampstart.Have you got lines on your readout? Above all use it as much as is possible .I hope you sort it.

Thanks Geoff ill check the ribbon cables all other dash items seam ok,
Its the clock hand speed that's not working correctly not sure about the didgy readout when cold if its working id assume the sender is ok.
The car has had an electric oil pump fitted, badly as there is wires stuffed all over the place under the dash looks like the imobaliser has been killed too
Fans failed to turn off the other week,(ok after battery was run flat ,charged and reconnected.) osr indicator was also on the blink (bad concocter in the rear harness plug O/S kick well)
Just cant be bothered to rip it all to bits and sotr it properly at the moment.

right make sure batt is giving out around 14,4 volts any lower and allsorts go haywire. My tam speedo played up before I got an fram fault it was dry joint on pcb.Any probs give Ian at Track v road a bell he is my 4th emergency service.Fully recharge batt and try resetting with plugin on fob into dash socket several times.Dont you just love tvrs !!!
good luck. pm me if ya want to chat on phone

Do you have aftermarket 'HID' headlight bulbs installed? The ones with ballast resistors & stuff? I'd be looking to disconnect these fellas first and see if the other problems go away. I agree with others regarding the elusive 100A inline fuse, or maybe an earth if not a badly seated connection.
Yes it has the HID ballast units fitted, as a quick check there wasn't any power to one of the units, but cant see both gong belly up.
The main points im wondering about are:
I was wondering where the power to the switch is from and is it the same power as the sidelights?
are there any jiggery pokery electronics in the switching side of things or is it simply supply to the switch and back to the relay?
And where the power from the switched side of the relay is fed from?
Ill have (one day when i can be bothered)a poke and see if theirs switch power and earth to the relay and also main power to it.
Unfortunately looks like its a get out there upside down under the dash and kill my back
Times like this reminds me there a young lads car not a toy for for a geriatric like myself.
