Audi R8 Driving Experiences

Hi Guys,

Thought I'd ask the question here in case any of you have done them or have involvement in them.

I'm looking for a recommended Audi R8 driving experience. Looking at getting one for the Mrs for Xmas, she has everything else, i can't afford the actual car so might as well do the experience!

Found one at Silverstone which looks pretty good. Anyone done this one?

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Well I own the R8 V10 and drove it on the Silverstone GP circuit last Tuesday on their open track day and was great fun. I've heard the Silverstone experience is good fun, great car, the home of motor racing...what more can you ask for. Clearly these experiences come at a price over a small time window but even so, if you like cars...it's a good way of driving such cars then buy one or joining a super car club etc

I have done the Exige experience and its OK, but having done quite a few track days, a mere 9 laps in total really is not enough! However, their Audi experience appears to offer a lot more. Its £500 and it seems you get to drive three different models including the R8 V10 - but you might want to ring and ask them just how many laps you get to do in that. Note also that it could be hosted in the small Stowe circuit - again, worth asking.

Note that for the last couple of years at least, Silverstone have offers on their Experiences that start to appear around now - and you can get 50% off with some.

id try the Audi one, was invited to one at Rockingham before i bought mine. No holds barred, go as fast as you like following the instructor, who will speed up if you're catching him. Had a massive tank slapper through one of the quick left-rights

I did the Audi one at Silverstone on the stowe circuit.

It was great fun and well run. You get equal time in all the cars, so not 100% of the time in the R8 but they have a fun set of tasks and courses for the days entertainment.

Everyman racing have a V8 coupe and a V10 spider if you're after a driving experience, rather than an all out trackday. Still quick though, just depends what you're after!

Try Truxton Racing (Google it) when you see the line up you may forget about an audi.
